Uganda Anti-Homosexual Bill

I just heard about this from a radio show a couple of minutes ago and decided to do a research on the net. What I found is hugely appalling for me. Uganda's Mp David Bahati submitted a bill in 2009 carrying of the punishment of death penalty for homosexuality. Homosexuality is currently not legal in Uganda and Bajati's bill suggests the very extreme punishment. People in Uganda will be executed just because they are gay.

Let's help stop this bill by signing this petition. We can help block this bill's progress. Please go to http://www.avaaz.org/en/uganda_stop_homophobia_petition/?slideshow.

I have gay friends. And frankly, they are some of the best people I know. Besides that, these are people we are talking about. Human Beings. I am never EVER agreeing with death penalties. Moreover, executing people just because they are who they are, just because they are different is UNACCEPTABLE. Who are we to say that they are wrong and that we are the only righteous ones?
